Since 1994, the Billboard Tropical Airplay chart has recorded not only the biggest hits of a diverse genre underpinned by Caribbean beats, but its continual evolution. Featuring salsa, bachata, merengue and the fusions that have marked the 21st century Latin sound, our list of the longest-leading No. 1s ever on the survey.
The list includes salsa anthems such as “Yo No Sé Mañana” by Luis Enrique to La India’s “Seduceme” and Aventura’s bachata classic “Inmortal.” It also includes more contemporary tropical hits such as Prince Royce’s “Carita de Inocente” Daddy Yankee and Marc Anthony’s “De Vuelta Pa’ La Vuelta” and Natti Natasha and Romeo Santos’ “La Mejor Versión De Mí.”
Check out the complete list of the 20 longest-leading No. 1 songs on the Tropical Airplay chart below.
