Manuel Turizo isn’t dwelling on the past. In fact, he can forget about an ex-girlfriend overnight, he suggests in his new single titled “Te Olvido,” which was released Thursday (Oct. 7) alongside a new music video.
Taking inspiration from the early 2000s — from sporting denim-on-denim outfits to instant messaging chat rooms — Turizo narrates the tragic ending of a love story in his music video directed by P The Chemist. “Don’t even bother giving my an explanation,” the 21-year-old Colombian artist sings. “If you ever think of apologizing when you’re alone. I hope you don’t even try it. Just remember I was rooting for you, and you threw everything out the window.”
“Te Olvido,” which starts off like a ballad but ultimately transitions into Turizo’s signature slow-tempo reggaeton, is the new single from his forthcoming third studio album titled 2000, taking its from the year he was born.
His upcoming effort will follow ADN (2019) and this year’s Dopamina, which peaked at No. 15 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart. The former peaked at No. 8 on the survey dated Sept. 6, 2019. Currently, the “Vaina Loca” singer is touring the U.S. with his Dopamina trek, making stops in cities such as Chicago, Orlando, Houston, New York, among others.
