Harrisburg, PA – Today, the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) announced the availability of $10 million in grant funding for stabilization payments to substance use disorder treatment providers to assist with pandemic-related expenses.
“We know that the COVID-19 pandemic has had negative impacts on the entire drug and alcohol field including individuals struggling with the disease of addiction and those providing life-saving services,” said DDAP Secretary Jen Smith. “This funding will help providers fill in the gaps to ensure that every Pennsylvanian in need of substance use disorder treatment services is able to access safe, high-quality services.
Through this initiative, DDAP will provide funding for pandemic-related expenses including minimizing the spread of COVID-19 by ensuring the provision of testing and support of vaccines as appropriate and delivering quality, evidence-based treatment to individuals who are underinsured or uninsured.
Eligible applicants can find the guidance document on the DDAP website. All applications must be submitted through the online application by 12:00 PM on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. Applications will be reviewed based upon the applicant’s adherence to the funding guidelines, and timely submission. The number of grantees and funding amounts are dependent on the number of applications received.
The grants are part of $55 million in federal funding awarded to Pennsylvania through the SAMHSA Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant Program COVID-19 Supplemental Awards.
